100 Ways to Take Better Photos

by Michael Busselle (Author)

Synopsis

100 Ways to Take Better Photos reveals the answers to many of those questions the enthusiastic amateur photorapher wants to ask. In a clear, jargon-free style, devoting a page to each of the 100 ways, Michael Busselle provides solutions that will help both beginners and more advanced photographers get the results they want. Moving from the basics of coping with camera shake, through choosing filters and framing a composition, Michael goes on to advise on areas such as shooting in bad weather, photographing interiors, and taking portraits. More advanced chapters deal with special close-up techniques for photographing wildlife or pets, bringing a fresh eye to your travel souvenirs with advice on shooting architectural detail, and how to convey the best of a landscape view - even in snow or fog.

Media Reviews
The majority of portraits are taken out of doors and the light is generally taken for granted, but it can have a very marked effect on the outcome of a picture and sunlight in particular can often create an unpleasant and unflattering quality. On a sunny day it is better to move your subject into an area of shade where the light is softer and will not produce dense, hard-edged shadows.
