Supporting Literacy Ages 9-10 (Supporting Literacy)

Supporting Literacy Ages 9-10 (Supporting Literacy)

by Andrew Brodie (Author), JudyRichardson (Author)

Synopsis

This is an exciting new series of photocopiable literacy resources from Andrew Brodie aimed at lower ability children in mainstream classrooms who need 'additional or different help' (one in six children fall into this category). The series of 6 titles (one for each year group) is designed for class teachers and also very significantly for classroom assistants (LSAs). Every primary school now employs several assistants and their status and role is growing enormously. Supporting Literacy has clearly laid out activities which focus on particular learning 'targets' that have been carefully selected and researched by the author team. All lower ability children are given targets to achieve and these books will feature the targets that are common to most schools and most children (eg. learning high frequency words, correcting b/d confusion). Each target will be addressed by one or more worksheet and the National Curriculum level of the sheets will also be clearly flagged to the teacher for planning and diagnostic purposes.
