Book Overview: Genuinely funny and full of non-stop action. Definite boy appeal. Arf is fast establishing himself as a popular character - never out of trouble, but distinctly lovable. Critical acclaim for the Arf series: 'Family dynamics are wonderfully drawn, in both the illustrations and the dialogue. The result is a memorable story' - Guardian Education on Arf and the Three Dogs. Acclaim for the Black Cats series: '... the stories have a fresh originality that will make them great favourites' - Lindsey Fraser, Guardian Education Book of the Week, 13/05/03. And 'Fast, exciting stories for fluent readers.' Books for Keeps, Jan 04 This is a unique series, aimed at children recently emerging from reading schemes who require continuing support. There is little new material for emerging readers between 8-11.
