A Drop in the Ocean: The Story of Water (Science Works)

A Drop in the Ocean: The Story of Water (Science Works)

by JacquiBailey (Author), Matthew Lilly (Illustrator)

Synopsis

The passage of a water droplet is followed in this story, from the time when it evaporates from the ocean and becomes the water vapour that makes up the clouds to the moment it falls as rain. The text reveals how the rainwater soaks into the ground or joins rivers and streams and reservoirs. It also looks at the way in which water is cleaned and used by us before being returned once again to this never-ending cycle. There is a water experiment at the end of the volume to show how changes of state occur from solids to liquids to gases. This volume is part of a series which uses cartoon-style illustrations and speech bubbles to make scientific ideas easier to understand. Fact boxes, a themed experiment, a list of related Web sites and an index are also included.
