  Knitting Patterns from Nature has been created for the reader who has already mastered the basics of knitwear and now wants to produce original items. Designs for both machine and hand knitters have been inspired by nature and reflect the changing seasons and the varied flowers and animals of the countryside. All the design processes are carefully explained and illustrated. The reader is shown how to produce each design, how to make changes to alter the shape, how to alter the design with decorative effects and how to experiment with the pattern and stitches for a more individually expressive design. The basic shapes have been kept extremely simple, and all techniques are demonstrated with accompanying line drawings.
