Synopsis

Pontypridd 1939. War-time austerity, air raids, blackouts and tensions strain family and community loyalties to breaking point. Ignoring his sweetheart Tina Ronconi's pleas, William Powell, along with thousands of others, volunteer for the Welsh Guards.
