London Town (Facsimile Edition)

London Town (Facsimile Edition)

by ThomasCrane (Illustrator), EllenHoughton (Illustrator), Felix Leigh (Author)

Synopsis

In this charming facsimile, first published in 1883, a young girl and her family travel around London visiting many of the familiar sights such as the Tower of London, the British Museum and Westminster Abbey. Along the way, they meet figures common in the Victorian era, but who have since disappeared: the muffin man, the shoeblack brigade, and the orange girl. This light-hearted verse brings to life the sights and sounds of Victorian London, and the superb illustrations have a comparable mood and style to those of those of Walter Crane and Kate Greenaway.
