by JeanneWhitmee (Author)

Synopsis

For Mary Snow, the end of the war brought unwelcome changes. Her husband, Paul, announced his intention of returning to his acting career but without the encumbrances of a wife and child. Returning to her hometown with her small daughter, Mary finds picking up the threads of her pre-war life an arduous challenge. In addition, the old antagonism between herself and her sister has not improved with the years of parting and bringing up a child alone also has its problems. But, in spite of the difficulties, Mary finds a job and a new romance begins to blossom for her. Six-year-old Vivien shows a talent for the stage - inherited from her father - and life starts to look promising again. And then the past unexpectedly rears its head with devastating consequences. Can Mary win through?
