by Des Morley (Author)

Synopsis

The war in Italy is almost over and the Allied armies are racing towards the Alps. Cecelia, a seventeen-year-old Italian girl, and a wounded German soldier, are trapped in the front line between opposing armies. A fierce battle is raging and there appears to be no hope either for her or for the young German she is nursing. Then David, an Allied soldier, arrives. Immediately there is potential for conflict where friend meets foe in extreme circumstances. Can humanity transcend the demands of war? How the dramatic situation is resolved and how there are repercussions in peacetime make a powerful and gripping story.
