Beautiful New Zealand

Beautiful New Zealand

by PeterMorath (Author)

Synopsis

There are very few countries in the world of similar size that can compare with New Zealand for scenic variety. In the North Island the white-sand beaches and the bays with their emerald waters provide gentle relief from the stark centre of the island with mud pools, geysers and volcanoes. Similarly in the South Island the bush-clad hills of the West Coast are far removed in appearance, though not in distance, from the golden tussock-covered expanses of the Mackenzie Country. However, both share a backdrop of clear lakes and towering snow-capped mountains. One of the most lasting impressions gained by the travellers through this diverse land is of the clarity of its light and resulting brilliance of colour. One of the primary aims has been to convey that feeling of light and colour. In a world where atmospheric pollution is of increasing concern , New Zealand's clear, clean air is an asset of equal value to the magnificence of its scenery.
