Media Reviews
This is a good book from the producers of Clinical Medicine by Kumar and Clarke. In the same format and colour scheme, it outlines a range of topics under the heading of obstetrics and gynaecology. The book is very colorful, and has some extremely good pictures and diagrams, which is definately its selling point...
Difficult issues are tackled step-by-step to aid understanding, and again useful diagrams (in colour) are used to help simplify some of these issues.
For anyone who likes to use Kumar and Clark, this book is a comprehensive guide to Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a very good clinical basis. 3rd year medical student, St George's medical school, London, February 2004

This is a first edition and to be honest this is an excellent start of what I hope will be a long run into many editions. It is mainly aimed at medical students but is ideal for junior hospital doctors especially those in lower grades and general practitioners as well as midwives and nurses. It follows the same design format as the well established Kumar and Clark book, Clinical Medicine. This means it is colourfully designed, profusely illustrated - usually in colour and the text is well broken up. There are also text boxes and at the end of every chapter a key points section making this book a pleasure to read. This is an excellent book for both the undergraduate and the postgraduate and at just under ?28.00, is well worth the money. Dr Harry Brown, Medix UK, February 2004

Great book produced by the authors of Clinical Medicine by Kumar and Clark, and living up to the same standard. This is a colourful book with great illustrations, simplified full-colour line drawings and many colour photos. There are also text boxes at the end of every chapter essential in revision! With a consistent, easy to use format this book is highly recommended to all students on the undergraduate Obstetrics and Gynaecology course. 3rd Year Medical Student, Edinburgh University, May 2004
Aimed at medical students, trainees in obs and gynae/general practice and midwives, therefore more than fulfils the requirements for finals. The key features of the book include: up to date material on stats and genetics; contrasts in practice between the developed and developing worlds; plenty of drawings and photographs as well as informative boxes, tables and lists distributed throughout. This is a clearly presented, comprehensive, yet understandable textbook and is a valuable addition to any medical bookshelf. 3rd Year Medical Student, Sphincter - Liverpool Medical Students' Society magazine, April 2004

Those of you that have used Kumar and Clark, this book may well induce deja vu; the layout is almost identical...Each chapter begins with an introduction, setting the topic in context. These are often very interesting to read and make the subject seem more relevant. The book really is beautifully laid out - full colour with pictures on almost every page. Where other books leave you confused about topics, Clinical O&G explains them clearly...It really is hard to fault this book. Medical Student, Oxford University Medical School Gazette, August 2004

The breadth of coverage of this book is greater than more current obstetrics and gynaecology curricula. For the medical student pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology it could not fail to inspire them further...For the HSO starting obstetrics and gynaecology it would be an excellent first primer.
