Upon a White Horse

Upon a White Horse

by Alison Payne (Author), Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt OBE (Foreword)

Synopsis

Covering a distance of more than 1600 miles which took her through every region of England, the author set out to recreate the journey, three centuries earlier of the intrepid Celias Fiennes. Whereas Celia Fiennes had to contend with impassable roads, unchartered territory and highwaymen, Alison Payne faced the challenges of juggernauts, concrete jungles and finding accommodation for Mighty, the one ton Whitbread shire horse. Her recorded experiences portray, often humorously, the English at large. The author worked as a director on "Blue Peter".
