The story of Child B. raised inumerable issues. A health authority decided that it was not going to treat a child's leukaemia but her father decided to fight the health authority through the courts. He won then lost on appeal and then revealed the name of his daughter which put Jaymee Bowen on the front page of the newspapers and resulted in an unknown benefactor paying for Jaymee to have an adult treatment which at the time was not available to children. This treatment has so far been successful and when BBC's "Panorama" made a programme about Jaymee and about her treatment she was no longer a statistic, but a very real very brave and astonishing girl.
