by Beauchamp Colclough (Author), JohnElton (Foreword)
People drink alcohol for all sorts of reasons, but in many people's lives there comes a time when reasons are forgotten and the drinking takes over. This book aims to help people recognize whether their drinking is a problem and, if it is, to do something about it. Beauchamp Colclough is a qualified counsellor and therapist. Between the ages of 14 and 34 he was an alcoholic, sleeping rough and living as a tramp, until he found the strength to turn his life around. He now runs the Promis Recovery Centre, where he helps people from all backgrounds with drinking problems and other addictions. He draws on his own experiences and those of his patients to take the reader through the stages of taking stock, understanding what needs to be done, making the change and sticking to it.
