David Frith's life has been spent in both England and Australia (where he played first-grade cricket), so he is consequently happiest when the Ashes change hands fairly regularly. A former editor of both The Cricketer and Wisden Cricket Monthly (which he founded in 1979, he has been writing cricket books since 1969, and his work has attracted a considerable number of awards.
