by Elliott (Author)
This book complements Lecture Notes on Clinical Pharmacology by Reid, Rubin and Whiting and provides undergraduates and postgraduates with a means of assessing their general understanding of the subject. While it will prove useful as an aid to revision and preparation for examinations, the questions and answers are also designed to be a test of knowledge and a source of explanation and clarification. The book has been based on the questions which have been set in recent years in multiple choice examinations for third and fourth year medical students at the University of Glasgow. Self-Assessment in Clinical Pharmacology consists of standard multi-choice questions comprising an initial stem followed by five statements to create five individual questions, each of which requires a true or false answer. Although the principal objective of this book is to help the reader acquire and consolidate a knowledge of clinical pharmacology, it should also encourage a grounding in good therapeutic practice and promote an awareness of the risks and benefits associated with drug treatment.
