Author Bio
Kim Houston BSc (Hons), Dip (AS) CABC, CCAB is a consultant in feline behaviour. She graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a First Class honours degree in Applied Psychology before gaining a Postgraduate Degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from the University of Southampton. Kim is a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and is also accredited through the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) as a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist. She is one of the only cat behaviour specialists in the UK, and regularly contributes to magazines, the national press and TV. Kim owns and runs cat-astrophes.com, a cat behaviour consultancy, and works with clients worldwide helping to resolve cat behaviour problems by taking a holistic-, positive- and education-based approach. In most cases, behaviour can be successfully modified and she has prevented many cats from being euthanized or rehomed as well as improving the relationship of countless cats and their owners. When not consulting, she volunteers her services to Cats Protection in her local area, providing rehoming advice and addressing behaviour issues in rescue cats and kittens.
