Frank Sinatra was one of the few artists who can truly be called a legend in his lifetime. During more than five decades in the public eye, he evolved into the much-lauded, deeply-respected king of popular music who also proved adept as a movie actor, director, producer and businessman. This book pays homage to Sinatra the performer - the man who changed the face of popular music and was known as 'The Voice'. It tells the story of his remarkable career and explains what made him one of the greatest singing voices of modern times. In special retrospective sections, it looks critically at his enormous artistic output, on disc, radio, television, film and in live performance. This timely salute to Sinatra is illustrated with over 150 magnificent photographs, gathered from a wide variety of sources, and showing Sinatra at each stage of his event-packed career. Author Stan Britt brings the fruits of many years of research to this book, including revealing personal insights, many of them exclusive, from Sinatra's peers and collaborators, such as Sammy Cahn and Bing Crosby.
