  This text provides practical activity ideas for educators of 3-6 year olds based on traditional stories. The stories it focuses on are: The Enormous Turnip ; The Gingerbread Boy ; Rapunzel ; Hansel and Gretel ; and The Emperor's New Clothes . For each story there are activities across the early years curriculum, plus ideas for displays, a cookery activity and photocopiable sheets. All the activities provide a foundation for the National Curriculum/Scottish Guidelines and cover many of the Desirable Outcomes for under-fives recommended by the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
