  Curriculum Bank is a practical activity-based series which can be used as a planning tool to help devise a comprehensive scheme of work, and as an easily accessible bank of ideas. It recognises that both spelling skills and phonological awareness must be taught within the reading and writing process as a whole and therefore the activities are presented within relevant and meaningful contexts. Although the book does not attempt to prescribe an order in which different aspects of spelling and phonics should be taught, the activities do link together to form a clear progression from inexperienced to experienced. The activities are organised into sections which look at the alphabet, word families, homophones, rules, problems with spelling.
