Synopsis

This volume features a ayllabus breakdown and analysis, essential principles and applications, examiner commentary throughout, specimen exam questions, and specimen answers. Two full practice papers for each mandatory unit, typical student's answers - with the examiner's opinion and comments, coursework preparation, pull-out review sheets throughout - for revision, and a portfolio of evidence are also included. From September 1993, schools and colleges have been offering new General National Vocational Qualifications (GNVQ) courses. Increasing numbers of 16 year olds are staying in full-time education. GNVQs provide them with a genuine alternative to A-levels. The advances GNVQ (level 3) is designed to be of a comparable standard to A-AS Level courses. GNVQs provide a broad-based vocational education, and will become the mainstream national provision for vocational education and training. Given the title The Vocational A-Level by ministers, Advanced GNVQ will also serve as a direct entry to Higher Education. At the end of their course, students will have achieved a foundation of skills, knowledge and understanding which underpins a range of occupations. Each Test and Assessment Guide will cover each of the eight mandatory units and will have a portfolio of evidence section, with tear-out review sheets . The books will be comprehensive, providing a course-companion of self-study for the student throughout the course. Exams are held on at least four separate occasions throughout the year, giving every prospect of continuous year-round sales. Guiding student throughout their course, the Test and Assessment Guide covers the eight mandatory units, with additional information on the optional units. Review sheets for the Portfolio of evidence are included.
