by G . J . Blower (Author)
As with Book I on this subject, the purpose of this book is to assist students studying for the City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing. The aim of Book 2 is to broaden the reader's knowledge so that he can understand the more complicated systems used in plumbing work. Possibly one of the most important changes to occur since the publication of Book I of this series is that water authorities no longer approve of the use of lead pipe for new services. It cannot be ignored, however, that lead pipe is still in use in many older properties and for this reason references to lead pipe and joint wiping are made in this book. New topics also include electrical components and unvented hot water systems and other methods of pressurised hot water supplies.
