The Weavers Of Saramyr: Book One of the Braided Path: Weavers of Saramyr Bk. 1 (Gollancz S.F.)

by Chris Wooding (Author)

Synopsis

A richly textured, darkly evocative fantasy set in a beautifully realised fantasy world, the Saramyr trilogy tell the story of an empire that rules over a land being overwhelmed by evil. An evil that comes from within the empire's centre, a sect of magicians close to the throne intent on killing any child born with magical powers. But now the empress has given birth to just such a child and revolution is brewing. Akin to the works of Robin Hobb this is a hugely involving fantasy set in a world with an enticing oriental flavour.

Book Overview: In the space of only three years and still aged only 24 Chris Wooding has written a series of teenage fantasies that are published in more than 10 countries, secured his first Hollywood film deal (for which he is adapting his own book) and been nominated for the Smarties award. A fantasy of extraordinary quality from an author with talent to burn Wooding already has a strong teenage readership - a market that readily crosses over to adult fantasy
