Richard Avedon turned fashion photography into an art form during a career that spanned six decades. Shannon Thomas Perich is an associate curator in the Photographic History Collection at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Robert Dallek is the author of An Unfinished Life: John F. Kennedy 1917-1963, among other books.
