The work of the German architect Zamp Kelp has become known throughout the world for its radical yet buildable appeal. Each chapter presents between five and eight projects, accompanied by texts by Zamp Kelp and Schmiedeknecht, expanding on the usual project description by relating the ideas to contemporary issues and debates.

Author Bio
Torsten Schmiedeknecht, b.1965 in Germany, studied architecture in Darmstadt, Paris and London. He is a registered architect in Germany and has practised in Germany, Greece, France and England (recently with Avanti Architects, London). He is at present working on architectural projects in Germany and conducting research into the Austrian group of architects and artists Haus-Rucker-Co at the School of Architecture, University of Liverpool. He is teaching a degree studio with his wife at the School of Architecture, and Landscape at Kingston University and also in the third year studio at the School of Architecture, University of Liverpool. Torsten Schmiedeknecht is a regular contributor to Architectural Design.
