Lois Jovanovic-Peterson, MD, is director and chief scientific officer of the Sansum Medical Research Institute. She is the author or co-author 24 books on diabetes. Charles M. Peterson, MD, is program director, Blood Diseases Program in the Division of Blood Diseases and Blood Resources of the National Heart Lung Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health. He is the author or co-author of more than 20 books on diabetes. Morton B. Stone was the founder and editorial director of Diabetes in the News and has written many educational booklets for people with diabetes. He was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
