Anaesthesia Review: No. 7

Anaesthesia Review: No. 7

by L.Kaufman (Editor)

Synopsis

The emphasis of this volume is again on medicine for it has become extremely difficult to be aware of the advances which are occurring in the sub-specialities, thus there is a section on respiratory medicine and consideration is given to tests of renal function which are now routinely performed by nephrologists. The hazards of liver transplantation are considered in detail in two chapters by a team who are actively engaged in this life-saving project. The junior staff may be unaware of the preparation of medical gases which emerge from the pipe lines and despite improvements in design of theatres electrical safety cannot be ignored. There is a chapter presented by an anaesthetist on recent changes in transfusion practice. Recent literature on obstetric anaesthesia, paediatrics and abdominal surgery have been compiled and are reviewed in three chapters.
