Enterprising Mathematics for GCSE is a lively course designed to help teachers improve their students' success at GCSE and encourage them to continue in full-time education beyond Key Stage 4. The course uses real-life contexts to introduce and develop the mathematical ideas students need for GCSE, and emphasizes problem-solving, investigative and practical work. The contexts have been chosen to attract and maintain students' interest and show them the application of the maths they are learning. Material is offered for Y10 and Y11 of the National Curriculum. For each year there is material at three levels - Foundation, Central and Higher. Continuity of style and approach is maintained throughout each book and from Year 10 to Year 11, enabling transfer between levels if necessary. Each book is organized into self-contained one-, two- and three-page units of work within five broad themes: environment; leisure and recreation; design; science; and business and commerce. This is the Central Book for Year 10.
