English Matters 14-16 Student Book

English Matters 14-16 Student Book

by Ms Susan Duberley (Author)

Synopsis

This resource is designed to help the lowest achievers to gain a qualification in English at the end of Key Stage 4. It covers grades F and G and also offers specific material for AEB Basic Communication Skills and other basic skills in English courses. This student book is organized into thematic units so that students work within real contexts. Each unit contains literature and/or non-fiction and practice in the basic skills required for GCSE. The units are divided into double-page spreads which stand alone so that parts of the book can be matched to the individual student's needs. There is an accompanying teacher's resource file. It contains differentiated resource sheets offering more practice at an easier level, and extension work, photocopiable forms and timetables to complete, listening exercises which match the requirements of basic tests, and teacher notes and mapping to GCSE syllabuses and other tests. A write-in workbook provides extra practice in important areas such as spelling, punctuation and key vocabulary. Because the student writes in the workbook, the teacher can retain it as a record of achievement.
