Synopsis

This is an introduction to public law as it stands in the light of developments arising from European union. It considers the importance of Factortame and other cases with an impact on sovereignty in the UK. The constitutional status and development in Northern Ireland is examined, providing students with an understanding of the difficult constituional issues arising from this part of the UK. This text sets out to give students an overview of public law, an understanding of the theoretical principles and an ability to relate public law to the modern legal environment.
