Synopsis

A moving new take on the Oedipus myth by one of Scandinavia's best playwrights Rosa and Eric's son was 'disappeared' by the military junta in Chile in the 1970s. Now, as exiles in Paris, Rosa has just written a book about his loss, while Eric works as a psychologist. After eleven fruitless trips to Chile in search of her son, Rosa is instinctively drawn to a young man - an ex-patient of her husband. Lars Noren is one of Scandinavia's leading playwrights and also artistic director of Riks Drama at Riksteatern, Stockholm. Blood premiered at Denmark's Betty Nansen Teatret, Copenhagen in 1995. It received its UK premiere at the Royal Court Theatre in September, 2003.

Author Bio
Lars Noren was born in Stockholm in 1944. He is one of Scandinavia's most prolific playwrights and is currently Artistic Director of Riks Drama at Riksteatern, Stockholm. His stage plays include Night, Mother of the Day, 1982; Demons, 1984; Autumn and Winter, 1989; And Give Us The Shadows, Oslo, 1991; A Kind of Hades, 1997; Romanians, 1997; Shadowboys 1999; and November, 2001. He has also worked extensively on TV and Radio.
