Other People (Modern Plays)

by Christopher Shinn (Author)

Synopsis

A new American play to premiere at the Royal Court Theatre upstairs Drugs, violence, real violence, life, life - we romanticise it - it is like - a drug - like - the trauma, the trauma of actually seeing this world is such that we create fantasies, we reward those who create fantasies because God forbid we look at - reality - at ourselves - there are people in this country, other people who are fascinating and troubled - and yet - where are they? Christopher Shinn's Other People is set in New York among a twenty-something generation whose lives and hopes are blighted by disillusionment born of affluence and impotence in the face of the unknown. The play premiered at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in March 2000.
