  This text brings together all of the Statutory Instruments and Practice Directions relating to and governing criminal procedure. Major changes to the procedure for prosecution and defence disclosure in crminal proceedings contained in the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 have come into force. The statutory instruments which provide for practice and procedure are set out, together with the Code of Practice made under Part II of the 1996 Act relating to the conduct of criminal investigations.
