  Arranged chronologically, this handbook examines all the necessary statues and statutory instruments, including new rules under the Children Act. The text is intended for both students and practitioners. The book is divided into five sections - contracts for the supply of goods, consumer credit, consumer protection, international trade and European materials. The text of most of the the various statutes is reproduced in full, and where there are omissions, they are indicated and explained. As several statutes, notably the Consumer Credit Act 1974, contain many enabling provisions, details of orders and regulations made under the authority of the statute are given where appropriate. The law in the book is as stated at 1st May, 1989, although prospective amendments are included where available.
