GERALDINE McCAUGHREAN is a highly acclaimed writer of children's books, whose talents have been recognised with the award of the most prestigious prizes in children's books - the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, the Whitbread Award and others. She lives in Berkshire. CHRISTIAN BIRMINGHAM graduated in Illustration from Exeter College of Art and Design in 1991. Since then he has illustrated many highy praised picture books. Christian has been shortlisted for the Mother Goose Award, the Kurt Maschler Award and the Kate Greenaway Medal. He lives in London.
