Author Bio
Words of Life is written by Major Evelyn Merriam, an American Salvation Army officer. Born and primarily educated in the USA, she received her high school diploma from Canadian Academy in Kobe, Japan, her Bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Nazarene College, her officer's commission from The Salvation Army's training college in New York, and her Master's degree in writing from Manhattanville College. Evelyn and her husband have worked in Christian ministry with The Salvation Army for more than 35 years, five of them in Japan. Their other appointments (a mixture of pastoral and administrative responsibilities) have all been in north-eastern USA, Evelyn's most recent previous appointment being in the literary department in New York. The Merriams live in New York's Hudson Valley.
