Picture Her Dead (Rhona Macleod)

by Lin Anderson (Author), Lin Anderson (Author)

Synopsis

She began to scrape at the mortar. A few minutes later she was able to prise the edge of the brick loose. The resulting rush of foetid air made her gag, but she focussed her torch beam on the enlarged hole and peered inside.
Her eyes widened in horror.

When art student Jude Evans vanishes on a photographic visit to a derelict Glasgow cinema, her friend Liam enlists the help of his birth mother - forensic scientist Dr Rhona MacLeod - in his search for her. Visiting other cinemas on her list, they find clues to her disappearance and to the horrifying secret she may have discovered behind those walls.

Throughout the investigation, Rhona must deal with the news that a face from her past is literally back from the dead - but for how long?

Media Reviews
'This brilliantly creepy novel is a must-read for crime fans'. * Bella *
The latest volume in Lin Anderson's series of crime novels featuring a Glasgow-based forensic scientist, Rhona MacLeod, reveals a fascinating aspect of the city's history. * Sunday Times *
definitely a cut above the average: vivid and atmospheric * Guardian on EASY KILL *
I was absolutely gripped... very enjoyable and truly, truly disturbing... * Radio 5 Live on DARK FLIGHT *
Chills the blood . . . would make Ian Rankin's old man Rebus choke on his whisky chaser. * Big Issue on DARK FLIGHT *
Let's all give a resounding hallelujah to the clever TV folks who have snapped up the Rhona MacLeod series and are currently developing it for the small screen. It's been a long time coming. The scientist's exploits may be far removed from the glamour and resources of her counterparts in the CSI offices of Miami, Vegas and New York, but if a case comes down to superior grey matter and sheer bloody mindedness, I'd put my last pound on the boss at CSI Glasgow. * Shari Low, Daily Record *
