Synopsis

Wind, or breath, is one of the Bible's word-pictures for the Holy Spirit, and very helpful it is too. We cannot see wind, only the effect of it ...and the analogy is obvious. There are a number of references to 'the wind of the Spirit' in the first readings of this edition of WORDS OF LIFE, which cover the days leading up to Pentecost. It is the writer's prayer that this wind will blow through the lives of readers as they consider again the birthday of the Church and God's special gift of the Spirit to Christians. Other topics covered in this edition include miracles and marvels in the Bible, the Epistle of James, the Letter to the Hebrews, and studies of Jonah and Ruth. Also, guest writers, Majors John and Anne Read, offer a four-week series studying the Beatitudes.
