Fast Forward Writing - Level 5 to Level 6: Level 5 - 6

Fast Forward Writing - Level 5 to Level 6: Level 5 - 6

by SueHackman (Author)

Synopsis

Fast Forward Writing: Level 5 to Level 6 is designed to secure the writing skills of pupils at Level 5 and develop them into Level 6. The focus is exclusively on writing. It is unique in tackling the hardest elements of writing: how meanings are shaped into sentences and paragraphs, and how style and control are achieved. Fast Forward Writing: Level 5 to Level 6 can be used as five mini-schemes of work on writing for a whole class, or as a series of weekly master classes. Each masterclass is linked to specific objectives for each year and a Key Stage 3 Strategy-compatible medium-term plan is provided. There are also pages of advice for parents, teachers and pupils. Fast Forward Writing: Level 5 to Level 6 can be used as a companion text for the highly popular Fast Forward: Level 5 to Level 6 , which focuses on developing the literacy skills of pupils from Level 5 up to Level 6.

Media Reviews
The layout of the book, as well as the ideas it contains, give it an immediate appearance of being straightforward, but at the same time stimulating. Its pages are full of clear explanations and well thought-out tasks, enhanced by attractive pictures. One of the best things about this text book is that it has been carefully tailored for a very particular purpose: to help pupils who need to focus on certain skills in order to make their writing a Level 6. Just reading through this book would help a teacher to check that all the skills that Sue Hackman highlights are being explicity taught in their classroom.
