Synopsis

Sandy Brent seems to have everything going for her: she's a fulfilled young wife happily making a home for her husband. But her illusions are destroyed the day that Roy offers to drive her to work and, on the way, tells her that their marriage is over. Completely. And what's more, there's another woman. Sandy's refusal to believe that it's finished sends Roy into a frenzy - and the car straight into a head-on collision. When Sandy wakes up in hospital, she realises that everything is different. Now she's a woman alone, having to start her life over from scratch - only this time she intends to make a success of it. She decides to head back to her roots in the colourful, sparky East End of London and start herself up in the rag trade. It's a risk but she believes that her glitzy designs and Nova Boutique will flourish there. But Sandy has an opponent set on ruining her plans. Worst of all, it' s her own sister, with a grudge to bear. Despite the childhood secret they both share, Ruth wants to see Sandy in the dust. Gathering her new friends and neighbours round to combat Ruth's warped machinations, Sandy needs to draw on strength she never knew she had. Then disaster strikes again...
