  Fast Forward is a ten-unit programme of activities designed to boost the literacy skills of Level 3 attainers up to Level 4. The short activity strands which run through each unit are not only classroom-based but involve purposeful games and challenges. Each unit includes the strands: word builder; detective reader; language workshop; challenge; sentence builder; and writing workshop. Together these seek to provide an incremental development of skills in spelling, vocabulary, writing and reading for Level 4. This text book is designed for the pupils to fill in - writing in it, highlighting, annotating, drawing or colouring - to create a record of their achievement and develop a sense of ownership of their project. They record their discoveries about words and language rules. Each Fast Forward text book is packaged together with a free reading book Stacks of Stories , a Library Association Anthology of stories about reading.
