Sue Atkinson has many years' experience as a primary school teacher in maths education, and has done research into how children learn maths. She is now a freelance maths consultant working with children, teachers and parents throughout the UK and internationally. Consultant: Shirley Clarke works at the Institute of Education, University of London. She has been a primary school teacher and a maths advisor, and was involved in developing the first SATs. She is the author of many maths books for teachers, children and parents.
