Lesley Garrett is Britain's best-loved soprano, with a steadily growing following across the globe. Now she recollects, in her own characteristic down-to-earth way, the heart-warming story of her life and career so far. Born in a cottage in South Yorkshire Lesley Garrett learnt to sing before she could talk. She trained as an opera singer, and is now Britain's best-selling soprano recording artist, renowned for her success in making opera more accessible, and a regular performer on television as well as the stage. Lesley has had to overcome ill-health, critical disapproval and painful choices between her professional and private life, but she has faced them all with her unique brand of humour and determination. She has encouraged thousands to share her passion for music, and now, in her autobiography, she invites them to share her memories.
