  The Hodder English Gold 4 course combines access to a quality English programme at KS4 with emphasis on basic skills support for pupils working at levels 2 to 4 of the National Curriculum. The book is a study of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men . It contains group and individual activities which provide access to the text and help to develop students' understanding of the plot. Drawing on debate and close reading, students should be able to engage with the characters and think about the serious themes addressed by the novel. There are also opportunities for producing written coursework in a variety of forms.
