Eating Cake

by StellaDuffy (Author)

Synopsis

Happily married with a loving husband, a beautiful home and a successful management consultancy, Lisa decides her life isn't exciting enough. She embarks on a passionate affair with Neil, her best friend's commitment-allergic boyfriend, and, when he starts to get too serious, finds fresh gratification in the arms of a woman. She juggles all three partners, for a while. But then Paul a tragedy occurs, and Lisa, finally, is burnt by the fire she thought she was playing with. With humour and compassion, Stella Duffy turns her sharp eye on contemporary relationships, and explores what, beyond sex and novelty, they need to last.

'Eating Cake is a witty and honest account of infidelity, constantly intriguing, so much so that you end up speeding through the pages when you know you should have browsed. But who says that a page turner's necessarily bad for being over quickly?' The Latest
A sassy, frank and wickedly convincing page-turner * List *
A witty and candid tale * New Woman *
'A funny look at just what the modern couple need to stay the distance' Essentials
A darker offering than usual from the witty Stella Duffy...With typical assurance Duffy examines the thirty-something IKEA generation and finds hidden strengths within the self-delusion and hypocrisy * Gay Times *
'A witty and fairly candid look at yet another thirty-something woman's life...this has a humour of all its own and it's raw and honest in places, adding a new twist to this genre of writing...as you get embroiled in her life the wickedly canny observations come through strongly.' Rachel Lamb, The Southern Daily Echo
