Media Reviews
'This Bible will be most helpful for the new Christian. But the believer who has found the joy and sparkle of Bible reading gone may also find this edition a refreshing help.' -- John Buckeridge, ed. Christianity and Renewal, and 'I think this Bible is the most imaginative I have ever encountered for its helpfulness to the reader.' -- Henry Wansbrough OSB, Catholic Herald review Of the NIV - 'During my work on the NIV STUDENT BIBLE, I went over every word of the NIV text in depth. I found it to be a wonderful balance of accuracy and accessibility, and I've used the NIV as my standard text ever since.' -- Philip Yancey, author
Author Bio
Philip Yancey divides his time between freelance writing and his responsibilities as Editor at Large for CHRISTIANITY TODAY. He has written many acclaimed books including, WHAT'S SO AMAZING ABOUT GRACE?, THE JESUS I NEVER KNEW and SOUL SURVIVOR. First published in 1979, the NIV is the world's best-selling contemporary Bible translation. More than 100 scholars from diverse denominational backgrounds worked for 15 years to complete the translation. Their main concern was to be faithful to the text of Scripture, and to reflect the literary and stylistic diversity within the Bible. The result is suitable both for private study and public reading.
