by JohnClancy (Editor), Andrew J . Mc Vicar (Editor)
This casebook has been designed to accompany Clancy and McVicar's textbook, "Physiology and Anatomy: a Homeostatic Approach". As with the main textbook, it views health as an ongoing process of psychophysiological balance, and thus ill health as a state of psychophysiological imbalance. The editors specifically address the learning needs of nurses who have to apply their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the nursing care they provide. There are a range of case studies from the four branches of the Diploma in Nursing (Adult, Child, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities). Each of the case studies provides details of the symptoms, identifies the homeostatic disturbance and shows how the clinical intervention and nursing care is aimed at restoring homeostasis.
