It is based around seven working days at an imaginary cafe in Wuppertal, supported by situations (eg a new member of staff), through which functions, vocabulary and structures are introduced. Characters, language and setting realistically reflect the diversity of German society. The themes are developed further in Auftakt , although both courses stand alone.
