Muir's Textbook of Pathology, 13Ed

by David Levison (Editor), Robin Reid (Editor), Alistair D Burt (Editor), David J. Harrison (Editor), Stewart Fleming (Editor)

Synopsis

This famous textbook has now been radically revised, replanned and restructured to reflect the latest trends in pathology.

Shorter than previous editions, the overlap between chapters in the systemic pathology section has been minimized and their length reduced in order to bring them into line with modern pathology courses. The revised text also reflects the increasing bias in pathology courses towards the principles of pathology and pathobiochemistry.

The frontiers of pathology have now extended to encompass a number of aspects of molecular biology such as immune mechanisms and the regulation of cell growth. These are fully covered in the new edition while the opening General Pathology section now gives the student a thorough grounding in the biological principles of the study of disease.

There is also increased clinical emphasis with, for the first time, clinicians contributing to the systemic chapters on topics such as cardiac, respiratory and renal failure.
