Friends

by Kathryn Cave (Author), Nick Maland (Illustrator)

Synopsis

Once I was lost in the wood, in the wood, and you found me. Once I was afraid of the dark, of the dark and the creatures that hide there. You didn't laugh and it wasn't so bad with you at my side there. A tale of friendship and the importance of being there for one another through good times and bad.

Media Reviews
heart warming and moving illustration of the wonders of friendship * Bournemouth Daily Echo *
This is a simply an exquisite picture book. Cave's text is touching and heart-felt, whilst Maland's wonderful illustrations capture the essence of what it is to find - and keep - a friend. * BfK *
Unsentimental and true...a must for friends of all ages * The Observer *
A lyrical text ... Nick Maland's softly drawn creatures, gloriously mismatched in shape and size, nicely suggest that friendship can cross barriers. There is no didacticism in the book, only an understanding of the essence of interdependency. * Julia Eccleshare, The Guardian *
Simpy an exquisite picture book...I would run out of superlatives in trying to do this book justice. Buy it and give yourself real treat * Books for Keeps *
...delicately stylish.' * my BOOKS mag *
